Mailcustodian Partial Outage 7th Jan 2012

It seems we dropped out of DNS for a few minutes on Saturday evening (10pm on the 7th Jan). I'm afraid this was due to a DDOS attack on our DNS service provide.

More information can be found here:

http://blog.easydns.org/2012/01/08/mini-faq-about-the-jan-07-ddos-attack/

We are now implementing a solution to ensure this doesn't happen again. (Multiple DNS providers). We do apologies for the problems this caused.

Network issues - 11/11/11

Apologies. We are currently experiencing problems due to our network provider GTT. We have been given a fix time of 1400.

Sending mail should now be working, but reading mails will be currently broken.

Update: new eta is now 9pm. If it is not fixed by that time, then we fail over to secondary servers during the night. All mail is being safely stored.

Fixed: 2200. Apologies for the length of outage.

Service Issues - ftp and website hosting

Apologies. We seem to be having connectivity issues with our website and ftp hosting servers. This is being looked into, although a time for fixing will now be sometime tomorrow (11/08/2011).

Update: This issue is now closed (11/08/2011 - 13:00). The network connectivity loss was caused by our hosting provider spliting our /28 subnet.

Emergency Outage 9th July 2009

Due to network issues with our IP Address range at one of our of hosting sites we need to move to a new IP Address range. As part of this we need to install a new interface card on one of our routers.

This is going to be carried out on the 9th July 2009 at 9.30am. The expected outage is going to be 5minutes.

Service affected:

1/. POP3 and IMAP

All other services, relaying and SMTP sending will be unaffected.

Best regards,

Mailcustodian
